While social distancing, Rebekah Hoeger, news anchor at 11 News, needed to have a live newscast from our living room. She built a pop-up live studio into her own living room with virtually no budget. Below is a short video about how she was able to keep the news going even with no newsroom using TVU’s live broadcast app.
She gets up every morning before 4 am to get everything set up before the newcast goes live at 4:30 am. Since the editing of this video, the set up has gotten a bit more complex. A mic that could connect to a cell phone was ordered to eliminate the hollow audio. That created a need for a second cell phone to call in on the IFB line. It is a lot of technology to manage at one time.
